Collect Donations – Get a Prize!*

Your support for The Foundation for Minneapolis Parks can go beyond participation in the bike tour. We encourage you to collect donations from your family and friends to support the efforts of the Foundation.

To thank you for your hard work, all participants who raise $250 or more will receive an exclusive Minneapolis Bike Tour messenger bag.

The messenger bag is perfect for commuting to work on your bike, great as a school backpack, or perfect to pack a picnic and spend the day enjoying the parks.

As an added incentive, the top fundraiser will be awarded a gift certificate to The Alternative Bike and Board shop valued at $400.

Every participant or volunteer that turns in donations totaling $10 or more will be entered into a drawing to win a number of fabulous prizes.

Sounds great! What do I have to do?

1. Print the Minneapolis Bike Tour donation form and make copies. Use the donation form to explain the bike tour and your fundraising efforts to potential donors.

2. Ask your friends, family, co-workers, etc. to donate to this great cause. Donors fill out the bottom of the form along with their donation. They retain the top portion of the form for their records.

3. Gather all of the donation forms and checks (if check is the form of payment) and bring them with you to the Foundation for Minneapolis Parks booth at the Minneapolis Bike Tour on Sunday, September 14th

4. We will tally the donations that you collected and if you have raised $250 or more, you will receive the exclusive messenger bag on the spot! You will also be entered into the drawing for other prizes that will be given away at the post-event celebration.

I have never raised money before. Do you have any tips?

Here are a few fun and easy ways to raise funds:

• Send a letter to everyone on your mailing and/or e-mail list. If you send a letter by mail, include a copy of the donation form and encourage your donors to mail the completed bottom portion of the form back to you with their payment.

• Do some spring cleaning and have a garage sale. Turn your trash into someone else’s treasure and a nice donation to the Foundation.
