The Foundation for Minneapolis Parks : The purpose of The Foundation for Minneapolis Parks is to develop, improve, expand, enhance, support, preserve, fund, encourage and sustain Minneapolis parks. The Foundation for Minneapolis Parks works with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board as well as other community leaders to ensure that our city's park system continues its legacy of service to all.

Varsity Bike and Transit is an independent, locally owned shop located in Dinkytown. In its 13th year, the shop recently moved to a new location – three times as large – just a few doors down from its old location. Varsity Bike & Transit has enjoyed its success by focusing on customer service – both by taking care of those in store and by finding the next big thing that might satisfy potential patrons. Of late, that’s been electric bikes. The shop proudly offers a wide variety of all bikes and helps the community find alternative transit options, those that don’t require gasoline - nothing in Varsity Bike & Transit uses gasoline. Wellstone Bike Club Through the Wellstone Bike Club, Women and men learn to ride for the first time, to tune up their own bike, and to savor the joys of exploring beautiful Minneapolis on two wheels. Students who complete the program take a bike home to use on their own.

Teague Alexy: Teague means bard--lyric poet--in Celtic, and like the medieval Irish, Scottish and Welsh bards who traveled from town to town, Alexy, who’s got roots in California and New Jersey, has spent the last few years based in Duluth and roaming the Midwest bearing songs heavy with news of the human condition--stories, philosophies, parables, and his own folklore--and a groove born from funk, country blues and folk, reggae, hip hop, soul, roots rock, Americana and jazz. The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls Teague "a buzz-worthy singer-songwriter" and The St. Cloud Times remarks, "noticeably strong songwriting skills and a velvet voice accenting his infectious grooves.
You may have not yet heard about Teague Alexy. Chances are you will very soon.” Teague also plays with the well respected roots band The Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank with his brother Ian.

Fat Chance Jug Band:
A casual & fun musical ensemble in the West bang jugband tradition. Delighting audiences since the early 90’s, Fat Chance plays traditional tunes from Memphis Minnie, Memphis Jug Band, Cannon’s Jug Stomper’s, classic country & folk, as well as “jugged-up” interpretations of newer songs. Guitar, mandolin, bass (washtub and/or stand-up), jug, washboard, kazoos & home-made instruments.

Wain Mcfarlane: Everyone in Minnesota who has been to one of his concerts, gone to Rossi’s, enjoyed music at the Fine Line, rocked at the Cabooze, listened to jazz at Sophia or enjoyed the funky reggae of Ipso Facto knows Wain McFarlane, the Rastafarian, guitar-wielding frontman leading the charge. He has used his raspy, soulful voice to jam with Branford Marsalis, Vernon Reed, Don Cheadle, Michael Bland, Dave Pirner, Ziggy Marley, Tracy Chapman, Cyndi Lauper and Prince to name a few. His music credentials reach beyond the 10,000 lakes in Minnesota to the shores of Jamaica and throughout the world.

Nichola Miller:
Nichola has been singing jazz locally for fifteen years, from thumping swing to bluesy standards to torch and lullabys. She brings real heart and soul to her performances. A sultry alto that can hit the high notes, her rich tone and unstoppable energy will draw you in. Backing Nichola is the Twin Cities Hot Club, led by Robert Bell’s swingin guitar stylings. Nichola will also be appearing at the Dakota Jazz Club on Thursday, September 18 from 7-11pm. She’s also at The Times Bar and Jazz Club thru October for Sunday Brunches from 11-2pm. Come join her for the fun!
